Health Intelligence
Centre for Africa
A country-led platform empowering African nations to transform data into health improvements. The Centre accompanies countries to define priorities, own and control their own data, and increase the resiliency of their health systems.
Why a Health Intelligence Centre for Africa?
The quantity of data is growing steadily, but timeliness, accuracy, and use of this data to improve health is uneven. The Centre supports countries to strengthen capacity to identify, implement, and evaluate evidence-based actions that countries themselves decide are their priorities.
Through coordination and cross-country learning, the Centre reinforces national systems anchored in sovereignty and driven by impact. HICA partners with countries to define what matters most, strengthen how health data is governed and used, and support evidence-informed decisions that improve health while ensuring data ownership remains with countries.
